I've already cutting out the next dress from this pattern - using stash fabric this time. I've not yet cut the bodice front - you can see why I need to make sure there isn't a target on each bustpoint.  The flowers will certainly hit there if I'm not uber-cautious ... yes I've checked.

I should have started with a bodice 1 size larger.  However I had already cut the pattern at a size that was right post-surgery, but sadly I've gained more weight in the past 10 months than I lost in the 5 months I was waiting (that was only 3kg) and in this pattern range it definitely made a difference.

I asked some garment sewers if they'd seen any cotton fabric in dark blue with white stars - thinking that the kiddy prints on drill might be my only option.

Hurrah, it was a smart thing to do cos I knew exactly where to shop for it, and tonight I got 4.3m of poplin weight AND it was on sale. I never sneeze at 30% off.

I'm going to a superheroes birthday party in mid-February, and was trying to think what I could wear from my existing costumes, and there isn't really.

Then a lightbulb went on for vintage dress Wonder Woman style ... namely the Lilly Rose pattern that I've already spent more time than I could bear sticking together last year.
